One of the tangent effects of full-song generation and the ease of creating a song should be considered with the changing landscape of music consumption.
Music streaming platforms increasingly offer curated playlists tailored to specific moods and activities, enhancing user engagement. In the top 100 Spotify playlists in terms of subscribers, 41% are considered as functional/mood playlists.

These mood playlists provide a seamless listening experience that requires minimal intervention from the user. End-consumers on streaming platforms are increasingly gravitating towards passive music listening, driven by convenience personalisation, and discovery.
Now, you can imagine where I am going with this. Oftentimes, when we listen to music we listen hermeneutically[^1], the song becomes a gate into the life of the artist. When this emphatic bond is broken by mood curated playlists, artist is anonymous and the story does not exist. This is one of the main drivers in adoption of Gen-AI songs in streaming platforms. Thich in fact directly influences the financial status of musicians by siphoning money to generated and low effort songs.
###### Footnotes
[^1]: Hermeneutics is the study of interpretation, particularly of texts. It involves understanding the meaning of a text by considering its historical, cultural, and social context, as well as the author's intent and the reader's perspective.
